CONOCIMIENTO COACHING PROGRAM

developed & led by Brenda Sendejo, PhD

Changemakers and transformational leaders are often overextended, overwhelmed, and on the brink of—or already experiencing—burnout.

  • As a former academic, I moved through burnout, illness, and deep exhaustion into a more grounded, aligned connection with my true self. Today, I draw on that lived experience to support others in doing the inner work essential for sustainable, meaningful change.

  • The Conocimiento Coaching Program offers a restorative path forward—guiding you to live your purpose with greater clarity, wholeness, and intention through consistent, client-centered support.

  • This flexible coaching model can be tailored to your individual needs or those of your group. I offer both 1:1 and group coaching for teams, faculty, graduate student cohorts, and other groups. Each space is intentionally designed to be community-centered, fostering meaningful interaction while allowing for individualized support.

The Conocimiento Coaching Program invites you to nurture your inner world as you work to make change in the outer world.

On the Use of Conocimiento and Our Work Together

The Conocimiento Coaching Framework, developed by Brenda Sendejo, centers the vital role of self-care and soul-care for changemakers from historically marginalized communities as they serve and lead in these tumultuous times.

Conocimiento — knowledge and awareness — is understood here as a practice of self-discovery, soul inquiry, and deep care of the self and spirit. It is a process of coming into new ways of knowing ourselves, and in turn, relating to others. This framework is inspired by Gloria Anzaldúa’s theory of the path to conocimiento.

Changemakers and transformational leaders across sectors are welcome, including those working in education, academia, birth work, reproductive and racial justice, nonprofit spaces, and social or spiritual entrepreneurship. Together, we integrate the stages of conocimiento as a pathway for embodying one’s truth—grounded in connection to the struggles of others and to the Earth itself.

Participants will explore key stages of conocimiento, such as nepantla—the in-between space of transition and possibility. Though often uncomfortable, this generative threshold invites us into new ways of being that more closely reflect our deepest truths.

The Path of Conocimiento by Gloria Anzaldúa:

“A form of spiritual inquiry, conocimiento is reached via creative acts-writing, art-making, dancing, healing, teaching, meditation, and spiritual activism – both mental and somatic (the body, too, is a form as well as a site of creativity). Through creative engagements, you embed your experiences in a larger frame of reference, connecting your personal struggles with those of other beings on the planet, with the struggles of the Earth itself."
