We’ve always questioned

the status quo …

Even as children we saw, felt that which didn’t seem quite right.

Mine took the form of questions like … “Why can’t women be priests?”  I really wanted to know.

Always questioning, never having our questions answered. Frustrated. But we kept it inside.

We were taught to be silent.

But we saw things that we couldn’t dismiss …

… in the energy of an interaction between two people with different skin tones or gender expressions.

Something just felt off.

We have always known that the world held far more than what we saw on the surface.

It was within us; the infatuation with questioning and seeking knowledge; with the moon, the stars, the ways of the universe… and so much more.

We just weren’t taught to listen to the inquisitive, the wise voice within.

Yet.

Then the day finally arrives.

For me, it happened on a spring day in 2004. I met Maria Elena Martinez and my life took a quick, sudden turn towards something I’d always known in my soul but which never surfaced in my life, until now: spiritual activism.

Attending to the inner journey as part of the outer work of outer change-spiritual activism-is my life’s work, and Guadalupe-Tonantzin has guided me on this path since the first time I learned of her history, possibilities, and potential through my beloved friend, Maria Elena.

And now it is time to share this wisdom and put it into practice.

For changemakers ready to awaken their medicine and excavate their vast power to create meaningful change within themselves and the world around them.

COMMUNITY & CONTEMPLATION

Join us! Together we will create and hold sacred space while we ….

explore and deepen our relationships to Our Lady of Guadalupe/Tonantzin, connect to the divine within each of us, and feel a deeper sense of how to live our purpose and be of service to our communities in these times while engaging in our own soul care.

Our retreat is anchored by contemplative exercises such as somatic exercises to connect with the body, spirit story-writing and reflection to connect with the spirit, and opportunities to pláticar - talk and share our knowledge and wisdom as we connect with our group in a supportive environment.
